"Improved Drafting Makes Teams Better" at
Canes Country. Cory does a great job keeping up with our prospects and I enjoy reading his articles. He follows almost everyone we have drafted since we've been in North Carolina and he explains how are prospect system is filling up (FINALLY).
Sorry, things have been a little dry around here lately but I should have a post up soon.

Our chances of making the playoffs are slim but now we can have a better draft this year. There are also good good players in the draft. If we don't win then Maurice gets fired which could be good or bad news for the hurricanes but we get a decent draft pick. I would like to see a better off season this year. If we don't have a good draft pick, I suggest a trade. I think LaRose is good trade bait. Jeff Carter of the the flyers will make our lines a lot stronger. We could have Carter on line 1 or 2 with ruutu and Brind'Amour.I think that is AWSOME. He also has 3 years left. Seidenberg and Sutter would also have to be involved in this deal for salary reasons and for the flyers. This might not even work because of how much they like carter. Maybe a deal for Erik Cole on the oilers. he seems to only be able to score with staal he only has a few points if we put him back with staal then we will have a better team again but the question is how to get cole with out losing any good players like ruutu but we would probably match 4 million that way we don't lose
salary but of course he loses his contract this year. I think the hurricanes should go for a 41-41 year that way they get a good draft pick and have a chance at the playoffs. The southeast isn't a great division but that is good for the players and team. That way there is little to worry about . If the hurricanes made better deals then the southeast would be a blowout Carolina would crush but we would have to leave it at what is and see if the hurricanes can catch up in the southeast GO CANES GO!
You made an interesting point. I think it is time to move on a player like LaRose. Yes, he looks good sometimes but we could get a decent specialist in return. If you plan on getting a guy like Jeff Carter, you may need to put someone more high profile on the table. Jeff Carter is an amazing player (20 goals and 7 assists so far). I have to disagree that he would fit in well with our team because he doesn't exactly throw his body around. If you make the play-offs you don't exactly get a high pick and talent is becoming sparse, so I'd shoot for one or the other. Let's see what the Canes can do this season.
